How to achieve diversity with a single systematic strategy in the sector, with the aim of providing an identity for a neighbourhood and single block, to the users? Within the master plan of Spark*, the grid system of Park City appears very strong, so we took the grid system as the major input to develop an urban strategy that redefines the full block, within the prescribed parameters of the master plan.

1_ the grid as the identity

2_ the edge conditions of our sector characterize the typical block: sharp angle condition unifies the site and defines its identity

3_ redefining the full block > breaking down the block to one smaller unit in order to structure the volume and bring the mass closer to the user = *typical spiral block

4_ the sharp edge conditions introduce the idea of lightness > “buildings with zero thickness”.

The play in perception and the feeling of endless space is a reference to the work of the sculptor Anish Kapoor.
