climbing SPORTS center

open competition - 3rd prize

Sport climbing is one of the major sports in Slovenia today, enabling healthy physical development in pleasant weather conditions all year round and providing an urban extension to outdoor climbing. Its rapid rise and importance are linked to the historical significance of Slovenian mountaineering and mountaineering, which stems directly from the exceptional nature of the Slovenian mountain world.

The center is designed as a 'mountain range' as a group of related slightly pointed prisms - volumes that define the identity of the building with their specific shape and material. The mountain range as a geomorphological group of mountain outcrops is one of the critical symbols of Slovenia, and its abstract presence in the urban environment is the spatial landscape emblem of the Climbing Sports Centre, Ljubljana.
